Privacy Policy
This page says what the site collects, who receives it, and how to have it removed. It is written in plain words rather than the usual wall of text.

This is the website of Tamara Hekkema, a REALTOR® with Greenridge Realty, 1311 W Main Street, Fremont, MI 49412. If you fill in a form here, I get your details and I use them to reply to you and to follow up about buying or selling property. I do not sell your information and I do not hand it to anybody who is not helping me run this business.
If you want your details removed, email Tamara@SearchTheLakeshore.com or call (231) 340-6420 and ask. You do not have to give a reason.

What Gets Collected
What you type into a form. Your name, your email address, your phone number if you give one, and whatever you write in the message box. Some forms ask an extra question or two, such as which town you are looking in. Nothing on this site asks for a social security number, a bank detail or a card number, and you should never be asked for one on a web page.
What you type into the chat box. The assistant in the corner of the screen answers from this site's own content. Whatever you type into it is sent to the service that runs it, which is named below.
Where you arrived from. If you reached this site from an advert, an email or a social post, the tags in that link are recorded with your inquiry. Those tags describe the advert, not you. The site that sent you is reduced to its name, so it records facebook.com rather than the full web address, because a full address can carry your search terms or your profile. This is kept only for the length of your visit.
Ordinary server records. Like every website, the service that hosts this one keeps standard technical logs, which include the internet address your browser connected from.
This site does not ask you to make an account, and it does not build a profile of you across other websites.
Who Receives It, and Why
Running a website means other companies handle some of this on my behalf. These are the ones that do, and they are all under the same instruction: process it for me, do not use it for anything else.
GoHighLevel is my customer relationship system. Every inquiry from this site goes there, which is where I read it, reply to it and keep track of the conversation. Your details sit there for as long as it is reasonable for me to be in touch with you about your move.
Vercel hosts this website. Everything you see here is served by them, and their standard server logs are the technical records described above.
Anthropic provides the model behind the chat assistant. If you type into the chat box, what you typed is sent to Anthropic so it can produce an answer. If you would rather not use it, do not use it. Nothing on this site requires it, and you can call or email me instead.
Google Maps is embedded in the footer of every page and on some area pages, so that the map shows. Loading a map means your browser connects to Google, which is how any embedded map works anywhere.
Google Drive stores any photos or videos you choose to send with a home value request. They go into a private folder in my own Google account, are used only to prepare your market analysis, and are never published or shared. Ask me and I will delete them.
Beyond that: if you ask me to, I will pass your details to a lender, an inspector, a title company or another professional working on your transaction. I ask first.
I do not sell your personal information and I do not share it for anybody else's advertising.
Advertising and Analytics Tags
At the time this page was last updated, no advertising or analytics tags are running on this site. No Meta pixel, no Google tag, no session recording. Nothing third party is loaded to watch what you do here.
That may change, because I do advertise. If it does, this section changes with it and will name the company involved before the tag goes live. You can also turn most of it off at your end: your browser's privacy settings control cookies and tracking, and Google and Meta each have their own ad settings page where you can limit what they use.
Text Messages
If a form asks for your phone number, there is a separate box you have to tick before anyone texts you. It is never ticked for you, and you can send an inquiry without ticking it.
Ticking it means you agree to receive text messages at that number from me, Tamara Hekkema (Search The Lakeshore). Message and data rates may apply and frequency varies. Your mobile number and your agreement to receive texts are never shared with or sold to anyone else for their marketing. Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop. Reply HELP for help. The exact wording you agreed to is recorded with your inquiry, along with when you agreed to it.
Consenting to texts is not a condition of anything. You can work with me and never receive one.
Your Choices
Ask what I hold. Email and I will tell you.
Ask me to correct it. Same route.
Ask me to delete it. Same route, and I will, except where I have to keep a record for a transaction that actually happened. Real estate transaction records are kept because a licensee is required to keep them, and that is the one thing I cannot delete on request.
Stop the emails. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works. You can also just reply and ask.
Stop the texts. Reply STOP.
California residents: this site posts this policy in line with the California Online Privacy Protection Act, which applies to any commercial site collecting personal information from California residents. Where a further right applies to you under your own state's law, ask and I will honor it.
This site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Only if you tick the separate consent box, which is never ticked for you and is never required to send an inquiry. If you do tick it and then change your mind, reply STOP to any message and the texts stop.
